Elective Application

Please contact Dr. Iskande Larkin or Dr. Patrick Larkin with any questions regarding the registration process.

Step 2: UF Non-Degree Application

If you are a current University of Florida student (for example UF PharmD, UF DVM, UF Online Graduate Student), STOP.  Do not complete the nondegree application.  Instead, email ivlarkin@ufl.edu and pmlarkin@ufl.edu with your UFID and the course name and number you wish to take.

Non-Degree Instructions

Complete the official UF nondegree application form. This registration form is applicable for taking one or more classes. You only need to fill out the form once, even if you plan to take multiple classes during the same semester.

**First-time users: Make sure to click the “Activate Account” in the email sent to you.**

  • Choose the year in which you are interested in attending (i.e. “(year) Application Year”).
  • Choose “(year) Non-degree Application.”
  • Click “Create and Application”.
  • Click “Open Application” to begin out the application.
  • In the non-degree course request section
    • Are you applying to Standard Non-Degree or to a Non-Degree Special Program?: Select “Non-Degree Special Program”
    • Please select a College that provides the Special Program and/or etc.: Select “College of Veterinary Medicine”
    • Select the Term of Registration: Make sure you are choosing the correct semester. For Summer, we only offer courses in the A/C term.  Do not select the B term if applying for Summer.
    • Special Program:  College of Vet Med – Aquatic Animal Health
    • Non-Degree Courses header: Make sure to put the correct course prefix and number for all classes you wish to take.
  • Add @ufl.edu, ivlarkin@ufl.edu, and pmlarkin@ufl.edu to your ‘safe list’ on your email account. If you receive any emails from either Dr. Larkin, the Office of Admissions, or the Office of the University Registrar regarding your application, you must respond.

Certificate Instructions

Complete the official UF certificate application form.

  • In the Certificate Level dropdown, select Graduate
  • In the Certificate Program section, click or search Veterinary Medicine. 
    • Choose: Care & Conservation of Aquatic Animals
  • Be sure to upload your unofficial transcripts
  • A $30 application fee must be paid when your application is submitted
  • Add @ufl.edu, ivlarkin@ufl.edu, and pmlarkin@ufl.edu to your ‘safe list’ on your email account. If you receive any emails from either Dr. Larkin, the Office of Admissions, or the Office of the University Registrar regarding your application, you must respond.

Step 3: Register for Class

We will begin processing non-degree applications once registration opens for that semester. Please check our Key Dates. If approved, we will email you with instructions on how to submit a registration request and how to pay for your class.
