2020-2023 Aquatic Animal Health Resident, Dr. Tatiana Weisbrod and her co-authors publication, “Manatee Trichechus manatus latirostris calf mortality in Florida: a retrospective review of pathology data from 2009−2017”, was published in December of 2021. Research such as this is integral for understanding current and future threats, and is used by policymakers for conservation of the species.
